Corporal Duncan Sowerby is about 16″ tall and is made from basswood with a mahogany base and acrylic paint finish.

Hobo ( the dog ) and Ned are largely made from basswood and finished with acrylic paints and a coat of clear urethane. The rails, pump handle and shaped base beneath the carved ties are made from oak.

“Fergus” the Basset Hound and the dock on which he’s standing are made of basswood and painted in acrylics with a clear urethane finish. The base beneath the dock and piers is made of oak.

“Toby” the Labrador Retriever is carved from basswood, painted in acrylics and is mounted on an oak base.

George Proudfeather is made from basswood, painted in acrylics with a urethane finish and is mounted on a mahogany base.

The Three Louisiana Hounds and their little squirrel friend are all carved from basswood and have an oak base.

The Country Hound is made of basswood with an oak base and is finished in acrylics. The figure is about 11″ tall.

The “Country Hound” is basswood with an oak base and is about 11″ tall.

“Bruzer”is a badly beaten up piece of basswood with an oak base and a hockey stick made from cherry. Â This carving is about 9” tall.

1st  Place Open Caricatures, 1st Place Open Class, “Carver’s Choice” Award (Pickering, 2015); People’s Choice Award (Niagara Falls, 2016)

The “Beach Basset” is basswood and oak with a brass sheet newspaper and “sits” about 10″ tall.

“A Moving Experience” is made of basswood with an oak base, copper wire, brass sheet and tea-soaked twine! Â The carving stands about 17″ tall.

Thanks Dennis. I’ve been keeping an eye on your many projects and photography through Facebook as well. I only happened by carving dogs when I included a Basset Hound in the Hobo and Ned carving. Mark
